A RIVER
VALLEY RESPITE
We invite you to
enjoy the comforts and scenic location of our contemporary, cedar home on a
bluff overlooking a bend in the Wisconsin River west of Spring Green. Our
bed & breakfast features the privacy and calm of two bedrooms separated
by a shared sitting room with a wonderful view of the river. All are on one
floor. Also available to guests is a living-dining room area and screened
porch, looking out to the river scenery.
Guests will enjoy the spacious grounds surrounding the inn, including
several garden areas and opportunities for walks in the woods and river
bottoms. Numerous bird feeding and nesting stations are maintained to
attract a variety of woodpeckers, hawks, ducks, water birds, sandhill
cranes and song birds. One of the river’s largest bald eagle winter
nesting areas is adjacent to the property. Other wild life, such as deer,
also abound.
Our goal is to provide a quiet, relaxing break from the stresses of working
life in a setting that supports slowing down but also offers unique leisure
and arts opportunities. A certified massage therapist
is available for treatments on site.
The
Inn
provides great photo opportunities for those who enjoy nature. All photos on our website were taken
on the property.
GREAT
LOCATION
The River View
Inn is located 15 minutes southwest of Spring Green
overlooking the Wisconsin River in the Town of Clyde. It is only eight
minutes from the Frank Lloyd Wright Visitor Center and Taliesin estate
and 12 minutes from the American Players Theatre complex. Also close by are The House On The
Rock attraction and resort and both Tower
Hill and Governor Dodge state parks. The back roads provide
excellent biking or sight-seeing by car. Hiking is nearby. A boat and canoe
launching site on the Wisconsin River is adjacent to the property. Several
golf courses that accommodate a range of skills, including championship
caliber, are in the area. Local artist galleries and antique shops are
plentiful, as well as world famous cheeses produced by the area's cheese

GOOD FOOD
We take pride in
serving delicious breakfasts in our dining area overlooking the river. The
breakfast, featuring the finest and freshest ingredients, includes fruit
and juice, baked goods and a hot entrée. The breakfast, as well as
afternoon snacks and beverages, are included in the room rate. Special
dietary requests are honored if we are advised in advance.
INNKEEPERS
Your hosts are
Bob and Marcie Holding, former Chicago residents, who retreated to
Southwestern Wisconsin several years ago. Marcie maintains a massage therapy practice in Spring Green and is
available for treatments by appointment at the inn. Bob is a former
business executive and recently retired local newspaper editor who is
available for consultation on area sights, attractions (particularly the
golf course alternatives) and bird watching strategies. If preferred, both
innkeepers are quite willing to leave the guests to their own devices and
inclinations. |

"We've stayed at the Riverview B&B and will definitely
return. The atmosphere was welcoming and friendly, as if we've known
the inn keepers for years! The food was excellent - not only
delicious, but also nutritious. Walking along the nature trail,
we were able to view wildlife including bald eagles soaring over the
Wisconsin river. It truly is a wonderful place to visit and
relax."
